Wegner’s most representative piece, the "Circle Hoop" or “Round chair” was originally designed in 1949. It gained a footnote in political history when it was used on the TV stage of the first Kennedy-Nixon debate of 1960. The hoop chair is one of Wegner’s more bravura designs, contributing a quietly sculptural presence to a room. Wegner was a designer who revered his primary material — wood — and it shows.

With its distinctive, contoured design and use of natural materials, the Hoop Chair delivers contemporary style in one of the most creative modern chair icons of mid-century modernism. The Circle Hoop lounge chair is defined by its unique seat created from around solid hardwood frame and body-cradling naval rope seating.

Surprising comfort is derived from a generous, concave cushion which is placed over the seat. A small pillow supports the head.
